TAWARAYA: The Jerusalem Artichoke Store

DaijinSangyou History

Prologue

Soon after entering Nanko from Asahito City.

That blue sky seen from Kuju-Wada Observation Park. Is my father, from that blue sky, watching over our current Dainen Group, and us brothers too?

Nearly 60 years have passed since my father founded Dainen Sangyo. Even before its establishment, he would go out to various work sites to support our family, returning home only a few times a year. Eventually, having acquired skills, he decided to start a business in Nanko.

Sometimes, I imagine what kind of dreams my father had when he nurtured Dainen Sangyo, which has been passed down from father to son, and now to me. I remember my father’s back as he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to our family and to Dainen Sangyo. During his absence, it was my mother who took on the roles of both father and mother, protecting our home and venturing out to construction sites. And our grandmother, who, in place of our working parents, imparted so much wisdom to us children. I wanted to look back on the memories of both my parents and my grandmother here.

I hope to weave the meaning of Dainen Sangyo existing today and continuing into the future, along with my gratitude, into a single story.

May the rich natural beauty of Nanko, which nurtured us brothers, be conveyed to the blue sky of Nanko…
